Daily mobility insight from a single, central data platform
Shuttel brought together data from more than 25 sources into a single scalable data platform. With daily reporting and self-service dashboards, clients gain better insight into travel behaviour, costs and mobility policy.
The challenge
The strong growth Shuttel experienced from 2017 onwards, on both the customer and supplier side, translated into an explosively increasing volume of internal and external data.
Data from more than 25 sources was combined and analysed in Excel. This process was time-consuming, costly and complex. Some queries took fourteen hours of processing time, while compiling customer reports sometimes took a week. By the time the information became available, it was often already outdated.

Phase 1 — From Excel to one integrated data platform
To replace the fragmented and labour-intensive Excel process, Shuttel and Full Orbit launched the Discovery project. Full Orbit took care of both the technological implementation and the accompanying service. Data from more than 25 internal and external sources was brought together in one central, scalable data platform. This gave Shuttel faster and more consistent insight into its own processes, employee travel behaviour and unexpected anomalies in mobility data. Targeted customer dashboards and reports could also be made available.
Phase 2 — From data platform to Mobility Insight
During various customer sessions, it became clear that the information from the Discovery platform offered great value, but that customers needed more freedom and ease of use. They wanted simpler access to their dashboards, the ability to make more flexible data selections themselves, and to explore the available information more independently.
The solution was therefore further developed into Shuttel Mobility Insight. The existing data foundation remained the central starting point, but the information was made more accessible for end users.
My Data Environment
With the launch of My Data Environment in November 2024, customers gained access to daily mobility reports with greater depth and more extensive self-service capabilities.
The reports provide up-to-date insight into employee travel behaviour and into anomalies that require attention. This allows customers to better monitor their mobility policy and make well-informed choices. At the same time, Shuttel can support processes, customer questions and supplier conversations from the same integrated data.
